Mobility Proximus Pop-Up Arena Middelkerke
The Proximus Pop-Up Arena Middelkerke will be located on the Westendelaan, Vrijetijdspark in Middelkerke from 15 June to 31 August inclusive. The location is easily accessible on foot, by bicycle and by public transport.
The site is easily and safely accessible for pedestrians thanks to the current and partly still to be constructed footpaths. This makes it easy and time-saving to cover the so-called ‘last few miles’ on foot.
Just like the pedestrians, cyclists also enjoy an excellent infrastructure and connections. Middelkerke has certainly earned its name: within a radius of 15 kilometres by bike, you can reach the Proximus Pop-Up Arena in half an hour.
There is a high-quality bicycle shed on the event site. There is also a paying, guarded bicycle shed for electric bicycles. A bicycle can only be retrieved on presentation of an identification document.
By coastal tram and bus
The public transport network has sufficient capacity to bring all visitors safely to and from the Proximus Pop-Up Arena. The coastal tram connects all coastal towns with Middelkerke at a relatively high frequency during the summer. In addition, two bus lines provide extra capacity on the Ostend-Nieuport-Coxyde-Furnes route. These bus lines also have a stop at the Ostend train station, the most important final destination for train travellers to the coast and a fast connection with Bruges, Ghent, Antwerp, Brussels, Charleroi and so on.
The coastal tram Kusttram X-tra runs 2 times a weekday in the morning and has only 5 mounting and dismounting stops. For Middelkerke these are the stops Middelkerke De Greefplein and Westende Bad.
Middelkerke also has an on-call bus. To request it, call 059 56 52 56 at least two hours before departure.
See the website of De Lijn for timetables and stops.
Middelkerke does not have a train connection. You can take the train to Ostend and from there easily take the coastal tram or public bus to Middelkerke. During the summer months, a coastal tram leaves every ten minutes from Ostend to Middelkerke.
Consult the timetable of the trains on the NMBS/SNCB website.
We strongly recommend not driving your car up to the Proximus Pop-Up Arena. The number of parking spaces available is limited. Please use the public transport and walk the last few miles.
